Periodic Fixed Wiring Inspection & Testing
Is the general electrical installation at your premises in good order ?
Is there an accident just waiting to happen? Or even worse, the possibility of a fire due to an installation cable or connection overheating? ?
Every Electrical Installation deteriorates with use and time. Therefore, if the safety of the users is not to be put at risk, it is important that every installation is periodically inspected and tested by a competent person. Indeed, it is recommended in British Standard 7671: 2008 (Regulation 135.1) that every installation is subjected to periodic inspection and testing. The Statutory Requirements for health & safety at work are covered by the Health & Safety at Work Act 1974 and through this act the Electricity at Work Regulations 1989 and subsequently British Standard 7671: 2008.
The frequency of the inspection and testing should be assessed in accordance with BS 7671: 2008 Regulation 622.1
